ELDERSBURG, MD. December 21, 2006 - This holiday
season brought out the good in many Carroll
County community members, who together with
local organizations and S&K Roofing, Siding and
Windows (SKRoofing.com)
donated 1,147 lbs. of food to the Maryland Food
Bank (MDFoodBank.org).
S&K collected food and other non-perishable
items at their showroom in Eldersburg from
Thanksgiving through December 20. Today, S&K
owner Don Katzenberger, along with sales director
and food drive coordinator Charlie McCurry,
packed up the donations and headed to the food
bank. When they arrived, the food was weighed in
at 1,147 pounds and Katzenberger wrote a check on
the spot for $1,147 to the Maryland Food Bank.

Continuing a Tradition of Giving
The annual food drive at S&K is just one of many
ways the company gives back to the community,
and is one that is growing by leaps and bounds
each year. The team at S&K Roofing, Siding and
Windows is very proud of the effort that the
community, their employees and their building
industry partners put forth for their annual
food drive this holiday season. "The community
support has just been incredible", stated Don
Katzenberger, S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows'
founder and CEO. "Large food donations from
local organizations like
the Marquis Foundation, Inc. (MarquisFoundation.org)
and the TLC Early Learning Center helped a great
deal, and together with personal donations we
were able to exceed our goal for the year once
again", added Katzenberger. "We are very
happy that we were able to help those in need.
It feels great to be a part of something like
this – after all, that’s what Christmas is all
about."
