Attic Insulation Maryland

AttiCatâ„¢ Expanding Blown-In PINK FIBERGLASâ„¢ InsulationDon't let an under-insulated attic drain your Maryland home of money and warmth. Just 15.5 inches of Owens Corning® new AttiCat Expanding Blown-In PINK FIBERGLAS Attic Insulation can save you up to 20% on your heating and cooling costs.*

Fiber glass attic insulation is non-combustible and non-corrosive by nature, which means that it will never settle or lose its energy-saving abilities. In addition, AttiCat Insulation provides an amazing R-49 value rating - the recommended attic R-value rating for the Maryland climate zone.

For a limited time, S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows will inspect your current attic insulation and measure its R-value at no extra charge.

About Maryland Attic Insulation

Loosefill attic insulation from Owens Corning, also called "blown-in" attic insulation, is made of virgin PINK fiber glass insulation. It is used in new construction and in existing homes in Maryland, typically applied in hard-to-reach areas of your attic.

Since fiber glass attic insulation is non-combustible and non-corrosive by nature, PINK fiber glass loosefill attic insulation offers significant advantages over other loosefill attic insulation products:

>   It will not settle or lose its energy-saving abilities over time.
>   It does not require the addition of fire-retardant chemicals that can promote corrosion of pipes or wires.
>   It will not rot or decay, support fungus or mold growth or provide sustenance for insects or vermin.

Owens Corning R-Value Recommendations

As a way to maximize the energy efficiency of both new and existing Maryland homes, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has published R-value recommendations based on specific heating and cooling needs and the cost of energy.

It's important to know that the DOE recommendations represent the necessary R-values to optimize your home's energy efficiency. You may find that these recommendations differ from the building codes. State energy codes are merely minimum insulation requirements for new construction.
