S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows (SKRoofing.com), announced today that it will hold its annual Spring Fest & Open House celebration on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 10 AM to 3 PM at 5399 Enterprise Street in Eldersburg, Maryland (rain or shine). The event is free of charge and open to everyone.

The 3rd annual Spring Fest & Open House will feature a live radio broadcast, booths from local community organizations, a moon bounce, free food, games, face painting, and a grand prize drawing for $1,500 in home improvements. Classic rock radtio station 100.7 will be there giving away prizes, rocking the event with great music and a live broadcast from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Again this year, S&K is offering free table space to local community organizations. So far this year, The March of Dimes, the Raven’s Nest, Relay 4 Life, Carroll County Food Sunday, the Carroll County Youth Services Bureau, the Marquis Foundation and Pink Cures will be on hand providing helpful information about their organizations to the community.

— 2010 Company Goal to Donate 2,000 pounds of Food and Match with a Dollar-per-pound Donation to the Maryland Food Bank —

ELDERSBURG, MD. November, 2010 – S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows (SKRoofing.com) announced today the launch of their 7th Annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank (MDFoodBank.org). This year S&K is determined to surpass last year’s donation and make this the most successful food drive since its inception in 2003.

In fiscal year 2010 the Maryland Food Bank distributed 18.6 million pounds of food. To end hunger in Maryland they would have to distribute more than 80 million pounds of food annually. “The ever widening gap between donations and distribution makes it more important than ever that we give our support,” stated Charlie McCurry, Sales Director at S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows. “This year we challenge more companies and more individuals to join us in our efforts,” added McCurry.

As in previous years, S&K will match each pound of food collected with a $1 monetary donation. Since their first food drive in 2003, S&K has donated more than 3.5 tons of food to the Maryland Food Bank.

Canned and non-perishable food, as well as non-food items can be donated during business hours at a drop box located in S&K’s Eldersburg showroom or dropped off after hours near the showroom entrance. Donations are being accepted now through December 17, 2010.

According to the Maryland Food Bank, the most needed food items include canned meat, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, oatmeal, cereal, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables and soup. Non-food items needed include diapers, toilet paper, feminine hygiene items, plastic/paper plates and cups. — $1,000 in home improvements awarded in ‘win-it-in-a-minute’ contest at the S&K Second Annual Open House event —

ELDERSBURG, MD. May 27, 2010 – S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows (SKRoofing.com), announced today the grand prize winner of their 30th Anniversary Open House giveaway. Cynthia Smith, a Sykesville resident since 2004, claimed $1,000 in home improvements from S&K by beating 3 other finalists in a ‘win-it-in-a-minute’ style contest.

“I found out about the event by reading the newspaper,” stated Ms. Smith. “The moon bounce, games, giveaways and face-painting all sounded like great activities for the kids. Since we live so close to S&K, I thought it sounded like a great way to spend our Saturday morning.” Little did she know that she would walk away with the grand prize.

Win-It-In-A-Minute Contest

Event attendees qualified to compete for the $1,000 prize package by estimating the number of M&M’s sealed in a large glass jar. The four finalists closest to the actual number were selected to compete for the grand prize. The competition was a timed challenge in which the contestants separated M&M’s by color with one hand tied behind their back. The contestant who sorted the most M&M’s in one minute was the winner.

“This was our second year doing the open house, but the first one holding a contest to choose the grand prize winner,” stated S&K sales director Charlie McCurry. “It was a lot of fun, and we were pleased to be able to award the prize to a member of the local community.”

The event, held on Saturday, May 22, 2010, marked S&K’s 30-year anniversary and served as a way to thank the community for their support since 1980. Attendees were treated to games, free food, face painting, a moon bounce and booths from local community organizations. 100.7 The Bay radio was also on hand broadcasting live and giving away prizes.

Participating community organizations included Pink Cures (PinkCures.org), who was there to support breast cancer research, Relay 4 Life (Relay4Life.org) and the Ravens Nest 14 (RavensNests.com) who were there on behalf of the American Cancer Society, Carroll County Food Sunday (ccfoodsunday.org) and The Buddy Project (TheBuddyProject.net) an organization which provides used and refurbished computers to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

ELDERSBURG, MD. March 31, 2010 – S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows (SKRoofing.com), announced today its participation in the 2010 Carroll County Home Show to be held April 10-11, 2010 at the Carroll County Agriculture Center in Westminster, Maryland. S&K will showcase a small-scale model home and share home improvement advice, product information and news with area homeowners in booths 7-9. This will be S&K’s second year participating in the show.
